How to register with OVRO?

How to register at the Overseas Visitors Records Office (OVRO)?

If migrants live in London and have been required to register with the police, they will need to register with the Overseas Visitors Records Office (OVRO). Please refer to the details below:

Monday to Friday: 9am to 4pm

Thursday: closed

Saturday and Sunday: closed

UK public holidays and bank holidays: closed

Please note that individuals have to book online within 7 days of arriving in London to visit the OVRO to register and obtain their police registration certificate (PRC). Migrants can book the appointment via the official website: https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/ov/registering-overseas-visitor/af2/how-to-register/.

It will take 15 – 30 minutes for the registration. The police officer will scan your registration form and record your

  • Full name
  • Gender
  • Marital status
  • Date of birth and country of birth
  • Nationality
  • Address in the UK
  • Address of the last place you lived outside the UK
  • Date and place you arrived in the UK
  • Passport details
  • Visa requirements, including how long you can stay
  • If you’re a student or working
